This breathtaking two-story house, nestled at one of the highest peaks of the picturesque Santa Monica Mountains showcases million-dollar mountain views that can be seen from room to room. This home perfectly blends modern, global, and industrial décor to provide a chic and cozy environment. The living room, centered around a large fireplace, is a bright, open-living space connecting to the office, kitchen and outdoor deck for convenient, easy indoor/outdoor living. After a full day of hiking, exploring, and sightseeing, rest and rejuvenate in the three plush bedrooms providing the comfort you need to continue writing your California fairy tale. When at home, immerse yourself in the natural surroundings with incredible views from throughout the house. Soak up the sun, barbeque, and keep cozy in the evenings around the fire pit on the expansive main deck. The lower floor provides added comfort with an additional family room and kitchenette. A large-screen television and fireplace makes this space perfect for a fun family movie marathon. Sleeping arrangements include: - Bedroom 1 - 1 california king bed - Bedroom 2 - 1 queen bed - Bedroom 3 - 1 full bed - Bonus Room/Home Office - 1 queen sleeper sofa - There is an on-property guesthouse on the opposite side of the garage that may also be occupied by tenants, it does not share any walls or direct access to the main house. - Expansive outdoor deck overlooking the city and ocean for unbeatable indoor/outdoor living. - Fully equipped chef’s kitchen with updated appliances (including a griddle, grill, and two ovens) and an extra kitchenette downstairs. - 3 comfortable bedrooms with stunning views and luxury linens and bedding 3 updated full bathrooms, including a Jack & Jill style shared bathroom between the 2nd and 3rd guest rooms. - Spacious design with an open floor plan and multiple living and entertainment rooms, including 2 fireplaces and 2 Smart TVs. - Outdoor entertaining area (Dining, BBQ, Fire Pit) - Home office with a dedicated workspace and high-speed wifi (which also contains a sleeper-sofa for additional guests). - Ample parking - Dog-Friendly fenced-in yard - Short walk to hiking trailheads - Laundry - Wildlife is abundant in the mountains including coyotes, mountain lions, and rattlesnakes. Do not leave pets unattended outside. The occasional outdoor insect or lizard can also sometimes make an indoor appearance.
Guest Access
We offer convenient door codes for self-check-in. Portoro Homes uses convenient keyless entry for self check-in, details provided 2 weeks (or less) prior to arrival by email and text message. • Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.
Getting Around
As the house is secluded on a mountain top, we highly recommend having a car for your stay to easily enjoy the mountain communities and attractions as public transit in the immediate area is non-existent. Please use caution on the long and curvy drive up the mountain to the home. On-site parking and a level 2 EV charger is included. Car services: Taxis will come if called. Uber/Lyft service can be sparse and may involve long waits. Walking/Biking: Hiking trails and endless views are all within walking distance of the property and the roads have also become extremely popular with cyclists. If you are flying in/out of the area, the closest airports are: Bob Hope Airport in Burbank (42 min drive), Los Angeles International Airport (45 min drive), Long Beach Airport (55 min drive). Note: rush-hour and other periods of high-traffic can significantly increase travel times and fluctuate, so plan accordingly.
Others Things to Note
Please pay close attention to following the house rules. Non compliance could result in sizable fines. - All guests staying at a Portoro Homes are required to sign (esignature) a rental agreement and complete identity registration. - Age restrictions apply. Reservation holder must be 25 years of age. - No Parties or Events. - Quiet Hours observed, 10:00pm - 8:00am. - Upon arrival, we aim to ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and guest features. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Portoro Homes directly. - Known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately. - Before check in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival. - Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. - We cannot guarantee early check ins or late checkouts, fee typically applies. When it is possible to check in early or check out late, there will be a fee for anything outside of a one hour window within our standard times. If your need for an early check in or late check out is great, your best option is to book an additional night. - Some homes have cameras for external monitoring only. - Some homes have pools and hot tubs. There is no guard around the water features. - Use at your own risk. - In the State of California and in Los Angeles County, all hotel and vacation rental hosts are required to collect hotel tax. We collect these taxes within the booking transaction. - This is a No Smoking property. Penalty fees for violations will apply and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host. - Fire Safety: Fires are only permitted in designated fireplaces. No fires on windy days. - No Candles: Candles are not allowed. Flameless options are provided for ambiance. A $200 fee applies if evidence is found. - Animals/Pets -- Dogs Only, Guidelines and Fee* Animals/pets must be disclosed prior to reservation arrival date, maximum of 2 per stay. Only dogs are permitted in “Pet-Friendly” Property listings. Allowed number of dogs will be expressly stated in the listing and a $150.00 fee per animal/pet is required. Animals/pets are not permitted anywhere on the premises unless prior approval is obtained. Any unauthorized animals/pets at the property will result in a $150.00 per day / per animal/pet fee, and may result in your reservation being canceled, and you may be required to vacate from the Property.
