Space
Welcome to Travis Heights! This quiet, historic neighborhood located just south of Town Lake provides visitors a genuine South Austin experience. Our house (built in 1958) sits under a canopy of pecan trees on Travis Heights Boulevard and neighbors beautiful homes built as early as 1890 and others newly constructed and designed by reputable, local architects. Seasonal Events like ACL, F1, and SXSW require a 4 night minimum rental. Shortly after we moved in, we learned that our house was used in the 1993 film 'Dazed and Confused' by Richard Linklater. You can see the house best when Tony (Anthony Rapp) and Sabrina (Christin Hinojosa) are kissing goodbye (a tender moment) at the end of the film. PLEASE NOTE - Austin Texas Hotel Tax is 15%. Airbnb only collects and remits the 6% State Hotel Tax upon booking. City Hotel Taxes of 9% will be calculated after your reservation is confirmed and host will send you a request for payment closer to your stay.
Guest Access
Our guests have full access to the house including garage, laundry room and appliances. A fully equipped kitchen includes cooking basics, as well as a coffee maker and blender. Local coffee, tea and chocolates are always in stock. Front yard, covered porch and back yard with patio are furnished and can be enjoyed year round.
Getting Around
This is an ideal location for access to downtown (Lady Bird Lake, Convention Center, Zilker and other City Parks as well as Cultural Venues). Capital Metro ((URL HIDDEN) bus stops are 3 blocks away. Taxis, Ride Austin and Fasten drivers are readily available. Hourly "membership" car and bike rentals like Austin B Cycle and Cars2Go are also available.
Others Things to Note
We also rent a separate GUEST SUITE on this property so you may see other guests here in the common areas during your stay.
